Lessons in High Performance from a Premier League Psychologist

Lessons in High Performance from a
Premier League Psychologist

What talent leaders can learn about developing elite teams

Wednesday, 2 September 2026 | 4:00 – 5:30 PM SG Time | Hybrid: Live via Zoom and in person at Catapult, Singapore

Professor Tim O’Brien, Faculty & Performance Partner at Eagles Flight, was brought in by Mikel Arteta to help analyse and reshape the culture behind Arsenal’s 2025/26 Premier League title-winning squad. Now he joins us to unpack what talent leaders can learn from that transformation.

Professor Tim O’Brien, served as Arsenal men’s team Head of Psychology and Wellbeing and brings a rare perspective on what it takes to build and sustain performance at the highest level.

Having worked inside three English Premier League clubs, Tim brings extensive experience in team psychology and culture transformation in high-performance environments, including eight years as First Team Psychologist at Arsenal under Arsène Wenger.

Designed for business leaders, the session will explore what helps elite teams perform consistently and how those lessons can support higher performance within your own organisation.

This exclusive webinar has strictly limited places.

Elite sport has spent decades studying how diverse, talented individuals can come together and perform consistently as one team. Premier League clubs offer a valuable view into how strong team cultures are built, led and sustained.

In this session we will explore:

Why can't one captain carry a team's leadership alone?

How do leaders build trust, clarity and shared standards?

What everyday behaviours shape a strong team culture?

How do teams stay consistent through change, setbacks and rising expectations?

What helps talented individuals work as one team?

What does it take for a team to think and act as one?

Experience Jungle Fire™

Grounded in Eagles Flight’s experiential learning approach and backed by principles of behavioural science, the session helps participants connect what happens in the experience to real workplace behaviours.

Participants will:

  • Feel what it’s like to shift from a survival mindset to one that optimises around what is possible
  • Gain appreciation for having clarity around the tolerance for risk versus reward
  • Understand how unity around a common goal is the secret to team and individual resilience – See the importance of avoiding time-tax actions in a time-scarce work environment

Unlike typical learning activities, Jungle Fire™™️ uses behavioural science to create observable patterns of planning, risk-taking, and coordination that map directly to how your teams respond to real deadlines and ambiguity. This is what makes it one of the most effective L&D programmes that drive behaviour change, because it doesn’t just teach skills. It changes how people act under pressure.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss This Event

This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from someone who has worked inside Premier League football and understands how high-performing cultures are built and sustained. Tim will share lessons from his experience in elite sport and explore how they can help leaders build stronger teams within their own organisations.

This session will not be recorded. What Tim shares here will only be available to those joining live, so there is no replay to catch up on afterwards.

It’s a perspective rarely shared outside elite sport, making this a unique opportunity to hear from Tim first-hand.

Programme

4:00 – 4:05 PM | Introduction

4:05 – 4:50 PM | Keynote Session

4:50 – 5:20 PM | Audience Q&A

5:20 – 5:30 PM | Final remarks

Why This Matters

You already have the strategy. Your leadership team has agreed on the priorities. The question nobody is answering well is: why does execution still stall when pressure builds?

This is not a training problem. It is a behaviour-under-pressure problem, invisible until you surface it deliberately. Performance-directed conversations are the missing link between strategy and results. This showcase gives you a structured way to see the friction, name it, and start addressing it.

What Previous Showcase Participants Say

Here’s what past attendees shared about their experience, and why fellow leaders are already securing their place at the next one.

“It’s really engaging and has very practical application to what is actually happening in our workplace. The interactive element really brought the realism of the activities to the programme. And tying everything together at the end with strong learning points helped reinforce the insights.”
